Worth the ¥700 even in the winter. We got there relatively early so there weren’t many people. It was a nice, calm spot to with a beautiful pond, ducks, and it still had some fall colors in late December. The winter blooms were just starting to come out, but there weren’t many. They give you a nice booklet that you can read about the significant landmarks as you walk around a designated route.
Absolutely beautiful place to go for a nice walk and get some photos if youre a photographer! Entry fee is light I think it was around 800-900¥ for adults. I would reccomend visiting in Cherry Blossom season as they have many trees there that would look amazing during that time.
Everyone can be particular and everyone is allowed their favorite, even if it’s not consensus. This is my favorite garden in Kyoto, especially across multiple seasons. Visited in fall & spring, and both were stunning!
I loved the experience of visiting a smaller garden. It feels more immersive, there are some old buildings, it feels like you are walking through a movie. The whole tour takes about 1 hour, if you don't stop to rest or enjoy the nature.
Beautiful garden, just a few tourist. You can enjoy the garden in a very quiet environment. Really beautiful pond and old tea house. Can have many beautiful picture without tourist. So serene. Just enjoy greenery with heron and duck. Beautiful sound of small waterfall and river run. Love it!!
