Just steps from Kyoto Station, the impressive 130-meter Kyoto Tower offers a fantastic panoramic perspective of the city from its observatory, located 100 meters high. From this vantage point, you can enjoy sweeping views of Kyoto's iconic landmarks and the surrounding landscape.

Nidec essentially means “Japan Electric Manufacturing Corporation” in English. Worth a visit, good value for the 900 yen price tag. Even at night when no clouds it’s interesting to see the whole of Kyoto laid out before you. When I went there was no queue at all and not too busy at the top.

Great view of the city. Did notice the tower does sway a little although. I do recommend getting there at sunset to see the city lit up. Does look better as the snow is setting or sunset. Open till late which is great.

When you’re in Kyoto, you absolutely must experience the breathtaking beauty of the city from up high. The Kyoto Tower offers a panoramic view of Kyoto, and in my opinion, the best time to visit is during sunset. The ticket cost ¥900, and we went during noon, but the view was still stunning!

We went here on an impromptu visit, spotting it on the map and deciding to head there for a nighttime view of the city. This tall building was cheap to enter, and satisfied the price with the views and experiences! It was easy to buy a ticket at the office, and the crowds were not as bad as they may have been during the day. Although there isn’t much to distract oneself through means of shopping or activities, you can find little crane games and gacha capsules on different floors of the building, alongside a small gift shop and some restaurants downstairs. The building itself seems to change colour each day, so you may even enjoy yourself more if it’s glowing in your favourite colour! Definitely one to try out if you’re interested in towers, views, colours or experiences!
