Kyoto Tower is a modern landmark built in 1964 to celebrate Tokyo Olympics. The tower is strategcally located directly opposite the Kyoto Station. Its 131 meters tall, making it the tallest structure in Kyoto. The tower has an observation deck, perched 100 meters above the ground providing a panoramic views of Kyoto. Below, the complex houses a diverse range of shops and restaurants. There was even a public bathhouse in the basement of the Tower complex.

The entrance fee for Kyoto Tower is definitely worth it! You get an amazing view over the entire city of Kyoto. The telescopes are a lot of fun too – they really bring out your inner child. A great experience overall and highly recommended for anyone visiting Kyoto!

When you’re in Kyoto, you absolutely must experience the breathtaking beauty of the city from up high. The Kyoto Tower offers a panoramic view of Kyoto, and in my opinion, the best time to visit is during sunset. The ticket cost ¥900, and we went during noon, but the view was still stunning!

We went here on an impromptu visit, spotting it on the map and deciding to head there for a nighttime view of the city. This tall building was cheap to enter, and satisfied the price with the views and experiences! It was easy to buy a ticket at the office, and the crowds were not as bad as they may have been during the day. Although there isn’t much to distract oneself through means of shopping or activities, you can find little crane games and gacha capsules on different floors of the building, alongside a small gift shop and some restaurants downstairs. The building itself seems to change colour each day, so you may even enjoy yourself more if it’s glowing in your favourite colour! Definitely one to try out if you’re interested in towers, views, colours or experiences!

This does not concern the observatory BUT is about the 10th floor Wonderland bar & restaurant. We decided to give it a try and we enjoyed it. The music was truly great (for us boomers), drinks were cheap, 1000 JPY for a GT. We had some fingerfood which was good too. You can also order real food and apparently, you can also reserve a table up front. They don’t advertise it anywhere but you should try it. Enjoy
