565-3 Kitafudodocho, Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto, 600-8233, Japan
The service is impeccable, I love the amenities, I have only good things to say about this hotel. It might seem small for American hotels, but it is a good amount of room. And the bath! It’s soooo nice to have a full soaking tub that can go up to 40C in temperature alongside a shower. The ekimae is great for its short distance from Kyoto station and several bus stops, it’s close to restaurants and convenience stores. I could not be happier about having stayed at this hotel!
It's the best hotel we have been so far in Japan. The rooms are beautiful, the bed is comfortabel (pillow as well) and the breakast is one of the best I ever had in a hotel. They offer Sushi, good soups, fruits, desserts, japanese beef, It's not the biggest buffet but everything they offer tastes good. Many buffets in other hotels that are half the price are not even worth that... In most hotels in Japan where we have been was the breakfast a big disapointment and I would recommend to eat outside. This is the exception. One negative point I must give for the transport of the bags in that big trolley. It's very nice of them to bring the bags in the room but if your bag is at the bottom of that trolley, it's getting heavy...
Super nice service and so many extras in this hotel! There is a lot of variety at the breakfast and in the afternoon the lounge is open for ice cream and drinks. There was an info station for shrines all around Kyoto and a workshop space to make your own souvenir. It was really a luxurious experience and we will be visiting again for sure.
Stayed here for 4 nights for our honeymoon, was in a great location and the service and rooms were amazing. Also took advantage of the free happy hour from 6-8:30 which had free nibbles and sake and beer and as much as you want. Great place to start before heading out on the town for the awesome Kyoto nightlife!
Spacious rooms, super comfy beds and superb location, 2 minute walk from Kyoto train station. Hotel offers free ice cream and art/craft events to check out if you have time. The only disapointment was they had car parking outside but do not let clients use it, I had a call at 2am to move my car so they can let their truck in :( Apart from that and having to pay for public parking, the Richmond hotel is by far one of the better hotels to stay at.
