Holiday Villa Subang Jaya to close permanently
If you live in Subang Jaya, chances are you're familiar with Holiday Villa Hotel & Conference Centre Subang Jaya, located just a 10-minute drive away from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport. Well, we're heartbroken to share that as of 1 October 2021, the hotel has permanently closed its doors after operating for 33 years ?

According to New Straits Times, the early years of the hotel was busy thanks to customers arriving from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport or what was known as Subang International Airport then. However, business began to decline after the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) opened in Sepang.
Despite its closure, the developer and owner of the property, IJM Land Bhd, is not planning to sell the hotel since the it's sitting on a valuable piece of land in a key location. Instead, they're looking to explore a range of options in order to boost the property's value.
"Due to the current market conditions, IJM may not wish to sell the hotel at this moment because it will not receive a fair price. We anticipate that, rather than selling the asset to maximise its worth, IJM would examine other options for it."

Holiday Villa Hotel housed 383 guest rooms, 9 restaurants, 15 meeting rooms, 3 ballrooms, and a comprehensive range of sports and recreational facilities. Apart from hosting conferences and social events, it also happens to be a nostalgic place for many guests who have celebrated special occasions here - from birthdays and reunions to even weddings.
One notable figure who has expressed their sadness over the hotel's closure is Member of Parliament (MP) Hannah Yeoh, who shared on her Facebook, "So sad. My wedding dinner took place here. My community events when I was ADUN Subang Jaya were also organised here. Thank you for the memories Holiday Villa!".
