Putrajaya may not be a well-known spot for travelling but if you take a closer look, it has plenty of wonderful things to offer. From scenic cycling trails to beautiful parks, anyone who loves the outdoors should make it a point to explore this charming city.

Whether you love exercising or finding new spots to visit, a new attraction has taken place in Putrajaya and is almost ready to welcome the public!

What is Putrajaya Steps?

Built in Taman Putra Perdana of Precinct 1, the Putrajaya Steps featuring a garden concept connects pedestrians in Laman Perdana to the Putrajay Landmark. It will serve both as a tourist attraction and new place for anyone looking to exercise or just stroll for some fresh air. With a stretch of 200m consisting of 250 steps to climb, this newly-built stairs is just 22 steps shy compared to the famous Batu Caves (272 steps).

According to The Star, Putrajaya Corporation president Datuk Muhammad Azmi Mohd Zain shared that the idea behind the steps was to boost the city's tourism industry by enhancing the administrative capital.

“We hope our Putrajaya steps will be comparable with other iconic steps in the world, namely Spanish Steps in Rome, Italy; the steps in Baha’i Gardens in Haifa, Israel; and Potemkin Stairs in Odesa, Ukraine."

The gardened-themed attraction will have colourful trees and shrubs planted along the steps including pink tecoma trees, bougainvillea and hanging plotted plants such as petunias. Plus, the area will feature several food kiosks too so visitors can look forward to yummy eats while enjoying the scenery here.
