Abu Essam Arabic Cafe & Deli in Tokyo is a cozy spot that offers a taste of the Middle East in the heart of Japan. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with traditional decor that makes you feel like you’re stepping into a small corner of an Arabic city. It’s a great spot for anyone craving authentic Middle Eastern food, especially if you’re looking for something different from the usual Japanese cuisine. The menu includes a variety of classic Arabic dishes like falafel, hummus, shawarma, and kebabs, as well as a range of fresh salads and dips. I was impressed by the flavor and authenticity of the food; the falafel was crispy and perfectly spiced, and the hummus was smooth and flavorful. They also have some vegetarian options, which was a nice plus. One of the highlights of Abu Essam is the quality of their ingredients. You can tell they put effort into sourcing fresh and authentic products, which really enhances the taste. They also serve Arabic coffee and tea, which adds a nice touch to the whole experience. It’s a small cafe, so seating is limited, but the staff are friendly and attentive, and the service was prompt.
I had the lamb wrap - super tender and moist! Crispy falafel, crispy kibbe, excellent soup! The hummus was also so good! I took home the desserts, which were also a huge hit! Everything was so well prepared and handmade with love! Definitely visit!
Absolutely delicious, took the falafel sandwich and I enjoyed it! The falafels were so good! My husband took the kefta sandwich with fries, the sauce that came with the fries was amazing! Tried also the spicy chai, the Arabic cafe and the baklava, very interesting flavor! The owners were also lovely! Next time I would like to try the hummus!
Fantastic Arabic restaurant! I had a lovely dinner here with two friends a couple of days ago, on a rainy spring day. It was my friend's first time trying Arabic food and falafel, and after trying them, they were elated! We ordered Tajan as an appetiser to share, one Falafel Plate each, and then we also tried their Basbosa and the Rice Pudding, two homemade desserts. Everything was so delicious we already want to go back to try other dishes! Their food can satisfy even the pickiest eaters: it's healthy, flavorful, and fresh! The falafel tasted fantastic, way better than a lot of falafel I had in Tokyo, and the desserts were out of this world. Additionally the staff speaks English fluently and was extremely nice and helpful to us, absolutely recommend!
Absolutely delicious. I had both the falafel and the lamb sandwich. The falafel was incredibly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Honestly even better than the ones I had back in Egypt. The lamb sandwich was packed with flavor and perfectly seasoned, wrapped in fresh bread that held everything together nicely. Portions were generous and I left feeling full and satisfied. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. I will definitely be coming back to sit down and enjoy the experience more next time. Highly recommended if you’re craving authentic Middle Eastern flavor done right.
