I went there in the start of spring, it is very nice place to take a walk and learn history about the biwa canal and Kyoto. The exhibition is amazing and interactive. Highly recommended. This place also has a small kiosk if Blue bottle coffee and outdoor cafe overlook the nice view of The canal. You also can take a boat trip from here along the canal seeing beautiful scenary. (I wish I could take it someday.)

I'm so glad I came across this free museum! They have a great variety of historical objects, interactive demos, and information on display. You can scan a QR code to view translations of all the gallery text on your phone. Highly recommend stopping by to check it out.

History never changed again , because we know what is going on, it is very intelligent Japanese , by the way it is free to get in

Beautiful to be close and feel the power,energy and flow of the water. As of when we visited on March 2025,it was free admission. A little information from the statue : The current water overflowing with great brilliance is created by the characteristics of the power of the 100 liters of water, which is a huge energy. This power and the feelings of gratitude for the love of the water of the biwa are embodied in this person. More than one entrance to enter there.
