Great hotel! The rooms were beautifully laid out and clean, and the service was amazing. We stayed in a room facing the main road and it was noisy at night. I don’t think the windows are double-glazed. For those who have sensitive skin, the water in this hotel / area is highly chlorinated. Higher than what I am used to anyway. My skin got super dry, itchy and bumpy all over my face and body so I had to use bottled water to wash myself. If you plan to stay here and have sensitive skin like me, keep this in mind! :) Overall, it was a nice experience.
We visited Kyoto for our honeymoon and stayed at The Royal Park Iconic for four nights—it was an amazing experience. The staff was incredibly kind, and the room was very clean and spacious. The hotel is located in a prime area of central Kyoto on a relatively busy street, but the windows are well-insulated, keeping noise levels low. We stayed on the fifth floor and were not disturbed by traffic noise. The lounge was the cherry on top. The only small drawback was that there were only two laundry machines available—in our case, some guests forgot to pick up their clothes, which was a little inconvenient. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel!
Went there during cherry blossom season. The hotel prices were doubled everywhere. But I would say this hotel is really worth the price. The kings room has 30 square meters and really spacious compared to other hotels in Japan. The hotel is recently furnished thus looks quite modern yet preserved the culture sense in Kyoto. We stayed there for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The hotel also has public bath which is good for relaxing.
Beautiful hotel in a quiet area, easy access to subway. Excellent service. Comfy beds. Lounge is lovely with free snacks and drinks in the evening. Public bath is a single, very nice hot tub. Skincare and bathroom amenities in the room were presented beautifully and good quality. Staff were wonderful and assisted us with booking a rental car, which was very much appreciated. Important note: standard rooms booked online do not have windows or tubs in them, if you book a standard room online you will be offered to upgrade upon check-in, I would highly recommend upgrading to a room with a window and a tub, very much worth the approx $30 more per night we paid. One of the nicer hotels we stayed at on our 5 week trip. Highly recommended.
