Great room for small money. Very close to a nearly empty beach. Perfect to chill and enjoy peace

Nice place, seen better days but a great location. The cabanas are set in a large garden which is pleasant to view from the balcony. The walk to the beach is awesome, a long wooden bridge over the river and mangrove. Takes a few minutes. On the beach there are several resorts with restaurants. All with similar menus and decor. Expect them to be a bit more resort-like rather than the driftwood shack style I prefer The beach had surprisingly little plastic in the strand line. The sea was quite aggressive, the beach shelves sharply making the waves jack up and slam down on the beach, followed by a really strong backwash. We all went in and got relentlessly thrown around. If you're unsure don't go in. The rooms have mosquito nets, fans and no AC. Our friends' door didn't lock, there was no soap and most things were a bit tired and worn out. I liked the basic wooden hut style but if you're a bit more fussy you might not. The restaurant does not offer food anymore but will sell you bottled water. The young guy working there was nice and booked us taxis which were similar to the rates on Pick Me. On our first night we were awoken at 2:30am by LOUD music from the resort next door. I've got a pretty live and let live attitude but this was making the walls shake. I climbed over the fence and found four young Sri Lankan guys partying in an empty chalet. When they refused to turn it down I took their phone and threatened to throw it into the jungle. When we spoke to our host the next day he said it happens from time to time and he is unable to stop it. n.b. Don't do this sort of thing. I had no idea what I was stepping into. They could have pulled knives or gone to get their mates. Be polite and walk away at the first sign of danger. I've tried to include everything that might be considered negative, but did enjoy the stay and especially the location. Would happily go back.

A beautiful and peaceful place great location close to the beach good value for money the room is clean,comfortable bed. Highly recommended.

We had a great stay at the Eco Cabana, and the price was excellent! The room was very clean, featuring a bungalow with a lovely view. We also used the laundry service, which was fantastic. The host was friendly and extremely helpful. Highly recommended!
