Really fun and quirky place, run entirely by the owner. It’s more of an experience than a traditional restaurant. The food was okay, but the portions were absolutely huge — I wouldn’t go just for the food, unless you’re celiac or vegetarian. The gluten-free vegetarian gyoza were delicious, and the okonomiyaki was good. Gluten-free note: The restaurant has a dedicated gluten-free menu! That said, I still recommend clearly mentioning that you’re celiac so they can take extra care. Only concern: The beer. Even though the ingredients didn’t list gluten, it wasn’t labeled “gluten-free” and I couldn’t find any clear info confirming it was safe.

I recommend OKO fun to everyone, including Asian people, despite what the other reviewer said. It’s not traditional okonomiyaki. There are plenty of other places to go for that. OKO is delicious, friendly to dietary restrictions, and so fun to be in and read all the signs and experience Shiho’s creativity. It’s so impressive how Shiho runs everything by herself from cooking, taking orders, and managing the restaurant. While you’re waiting, go to the front right and make yourself a cocktail or pour a beer for ¥200 (cash only). You can pay with card for food when you order With only one person, the wait is to be expected. Luckily, there’s tons of seating both upstairs and downstairs.

Just the most amazing evening. As soon as you step in the door you know you’ll be looked after. Shiho is a unique, friendly and beautiful soul. You can tell she just lives for this place. It’s almost a co-op feel, asking to pour your own drinks and clean your own tables; and you’re glad to do that because you’re helping Shiho! 200 JPY drinks, whatever you drink. You can’t go wrong here. A choice of tatami upstairs or chairs/benches and tables. We weren’t even waiting long even though it was super busy; around 20 mins between being in line and receiving our meal. Don’t skip on this place; the best okonomiyaki I’ve tasted, it must be the love she pours into it. Gyozas the best I’ve ever had. Shiho is great; long may she have success with this place. Arigatou gozaimashita!

This restaurant is the epitome of what every dining experience should be. From the moment you step in, it’s clear you’re somewhere special. The food? Out of this world. Bold, unexpected, and hands down the best meal I’ve had—not just in Japan, but in a long time. The owner is the heart of it all—genuinely invested in every guest, making sure everyone feels taken care of. The energy? Unmatched. It’s wild, it’s crazy, it’s fun in a way you rarely find in restaurants. This place isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience. A must-visit when you’re in Osaka. No words can fully describe how truly delicious everything is. 100% worth the wait.

The woman who runs this place is genuinely my superhero, she runs everything by herself from cooking to serving. And yet, our food was super fast and the wait time was nothing compared to the delight of the food. I have come back twice in two days and will be recommending the food to anybody who will listen. Plus, the cheap drinks is definitely a bonus.
