One of the most beautiful Japanese gardens that I have ever visited. The grounds are vast and there are many different flowering trees and shrubs. I was fortunate to visit during a time when a lot of the plants were in bloom. The landscaping is exquisite. There are two different tickets one for the gardens and one for the temple. The gardens one must visit. The temple I couldn't see much in detail.

We visited this temple with a large garden and it was worth the entrance fee. There were many flowers in bloom besides sakura, including azalea, rhododendron and more. The garden is very well landscaped with nice paths that go uphill. There is also a pond that dates back to the 13th century. The temple buildings are large wooden structures. We also had lunch at the vegan restaurant here which requires prior reservations. We had a very pleasant visit to this temple.

The world heritage temple that is located next to the arashiyama Bamboo forest. Entrance fee is 500¥. Temple buildings are large wooden structures.There were many flowers blooming in the garden. The garden is well landscaped with nice paths that go uphill. I think it is good place to enjoy autumn colors too.

The nature surrounding this temple is the most beautiful i have seen comparing to other places. Absolutely wonderfull. When looking at the water, there are multiple seats to enjoy it for a longer time and relax. I just recommend other tourists to keep in mind that it is supposed to be a zen garden, so the experience is nicer when everyone stays quiet. It is a different experience when everyone is talking loudly or yelling

Cost 500yen per person to enter the garden part as of the writing of the review. You need to pay separate to enter the temple itself with your shoes off. Worth every yen in my opinion. Very beutiful garden and pond near the temple. You can get beautiful shots of the place here. Would highly recommend here if you are planning to go to the bamboo forest.
