Japan, 〒616-8435 Kyoto, Ukyo Ward, 嵯峨鳥居本
An area in the deeper part of Sagano. Great surroundings, idyllic atmosphere, interesting buildings and shops, and really nice residents. It is worth taking a walk along this road. Visited in 2024
Lovely and quiet street to walk along with photogenic spots to take photos. Good for introverts and people wanting to escape the tourists during PEAK season
I stumbled upon this street by chance, and it was good fortune that brought us together. It's out of the crowds, has cafés, restaurants (even a vegetarian one), and lots of old antique-like shops with knick-knacks. If you're observant enough, you'll notice a few religious shrines sprinkled in niches around the walkway and street.
This is such a lovely place off the beaten tourist trail. Takes a bit more of a walk to get here but so worth it. Spend the time once you are finished walking the lovely quiet back roads to the tourist bamboo forest and get to enjoy a lovely part of Kyoto.
Cute little historical street with cafes and crafts but I think also residential. There weren’t many people there, had a serene vibe and nice to see something traditional while in town to see the bamboo forest
