My visit to the Rang Mahal at the Red Fort in Delhi was truly enchanting. Known as the "Palace of Colors," the Rang Mahal is a stunning example of Mughal architecture and artistry. This beautiful palace was originally used as the residence of the Mughal emperor's wives and mistresses and is renowned for its vibrant and intricate decorations. The interiors of the Rang Mahal are adorned with exquisite floral designs, inlaid with precious stones, and richly painted with vibrant colors, making it a visual delight. The use of mirror work on the walls and ceilings adds to the palace's opulence, creating a dazzling effect when light reflects off the surfaces. One of the most captivating features of the Rang Mahal is its central hall, which houses a beautiful marble fountain and a small water channel known as the Nahr-i-Bihisht, or the "Stream of Paradise." This water feature not only adds to the aesthetic appeal of the palace but also provides a sense of tranquility and relaxation. The Rang Mahal offers a glimpse into the luxurious lifestyle of the Mughal royalty and their love for art and beauty. Visiting this palace within the Red Fort complex is an enriching experience, allowing you to appreciate the grandeur and elegance of the Mughal era. Overall, the Rang Mahal in Red Fort, Delhi, is a must-visit for history buffs and art enthusiasts. Its intricate designs, vibrant colors, and serene ambiance make it a standout attraction in the Red Fort complex. I highly recommend exploring this beautiful palace to fully appreciate its historical and architectural significance.

Rang Mahal is one of the beautiful structures inside the Red Fort complex. The Red Fort was built by Shah Jahan in his city Shahjahanabad. This building used to be the private residence for the royal female members. It used to be beautifully decorated with precious jewels and other decorations. We cannot enter inside the building, however we can marvel at its beauty from the outside. ♿✔️ Wheelchair accessible entrance is available ♿?✔️ Wheelchair accessible washrooms are available ♿?️✔️ Wheelchair accessible parking is available ?️✔️ Tickets are available at the ticket counter in the Delhi Gate entrance or can also be purchased online

The Rang Mahal or Palace of Colour is located in the Red Fort. Delhi. It originally served as a part of the imperial harem. It was the part of the palace in which female members of the royal family could rest at. It was known as the Palace of Distinction (Imtiaz Mahal) during the rule of Shah Jahan. After the British occupied the fort in 1857, Rang Mahal was used as a mess hall for a brief time. The building's interior was once richly painted and decorated. Some apartments of this building are called Shish Mahal due to tiny pieces of mirrors that cover the ceilings. Through the center of the marble palace, a shallow canal called the Stream of Paradise (Nahr-i-Bihist) flowed into a marble basin carved into the floor. Under the Rang Mahal was a basement (tehkhana). which women would use on hot summer days.

its architectural beauty and historical significance. The intricate designs and the serene ambiance provide a glimpse into the grandeur of the Mughal era. Many appreciate the opportunity to explore the palace's unique features, such as the mirrored ceilings and the historical water channel. However, some note that certain areas may require restoration to fully restore their former glory.
