Arashiyama Monkey Park is a fun and unique experience that’s worth the short hike! After a 15–20 minute uphill walk, you’re rewarded with incredible panoramic views of Kyoto and the chance to see wild monkeys roaming freely in their natural habitat. The monkeys are used to people and you can even feed them (from inside a protected enclosure). It’s a cool mix of nature, wildlife, and sightseeing all in one spot. Bring comfortable shoes and some water for the hike, but the view and the monkeys make it totally worth it. A great stop if you’re exploring the Arashiyama area!

A perfect experience in Kyoto! First of all the area it’s in: Arashiyama is beautiful. The river is an amazing spot to sit by. The climb up to the monkeys takes about 20 minutes, and it’s a picturesque hike up the mountain through the forest. It’s an enjoyable journey. And then you get an incredible view of Kyoto at the top! As well as many monkeys running around. The monkeys are adorable. Highly recommend!

Little 20 minute hike up the mountain making you realize that you're completely out of shape but makes it really worth all the effort in the end. Up at the rest area (where monkeys are) is filled with courteous staff to keep you safe and enjoy your time with the snow monkeys. You can buy a bag of treats to feed the monkeys at a designated area and monkeys are gentle enough to take the food out of your hand. Definitely worth the little hike and I highly recommend it!

For challenging times you can easily choose to visit this wonderful monkeys family in wild and arranged to be seen by tourists, once you decided then you have to climb to the top of the hill and this will take you about 20-25min from ticket office… with few benches on side of foot path you can easily rest and have a deep breath of fresh forest air, then start again to reach top where you will have a unbelievable view over the city as much as you can catch with your eyes, also you can feed them monkeys from cage provided only. Top recommendation for diversity walking and view.

Short and sweet experience once you get to the top (it's around 15 minutes of a decent incline to get up there). Monkeys don't seem aggressive and I was able to get some good photos of them with the city in the background. The babies were so cute. Worth the price, even with the crowds.
