409, Chulia St, Georgetown, 10200 George Town, Penang, Malaysia
Walking around Chinatown is like going back a century or two into history. Tourists can walk, rent bicycles or motorbikes, or even take a trisha. There are temples, mosques and even a church from that period. There are clan houses to visit and admire. A more recent feature would be the street art comprising murals and steel sculptures. And not to forget the very many food stalls, coffee shops and restaurants you will find.
I am bias about this beautiful Georgetown. It is my birth city and a town that is full of great memories, yummy foods, history and heritage architectural design buildings. A must visit world UNESCO's town .
Nice place to go in Penang. Lots if stores and local food.
A wonderful walk around the historical Chinatown of Georgetown, the spirit of the place has been preserved for centuries and now as it is a UNESCO world heritage site, it can't be disfigured, which is good, we have to remember the Past. It's important. Lots of amazing buildings, houses with the typical architecture of the region traces back the history of the Chinese settlers. Now the place is still vibrant and colorful, lots of good eateries, handicraft, you'll be amazed to see everything around you . Highly recommended but expect many visitors during the weekends.
