66 Tanaka Minamiokubocho, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto, 606-8214, Japan
Kyoto Central Masjid, the second mosque in Kyoto City is quite strategic because it is located near to a train station(Mototanaka Station) and bus stop(Eiden Mototanaka). Has 2 floors and buildings for men and women to pray and also the place to make wudu. There is also Halal mart to buy halal products such as frozen chicken, sausages etc. Bicycle parking spot also available but it is very limited. Jumuah khutbah usually around 12.20pm depends on the season.
Alhamdulillah, got to pray here although they were “close”. They actually open, you just need to call to enter. They will describe how to open the mosque and pray. Women’s prayer room a bit complicated, it’s at the building beside that you could excess through the back door and they have 2 floors. Both floors have toilet but for wudhu will be on the top floor. Anyway, just call them for better information.
Went during Friday prayer. Its started around 12.30pm during autumn. Muslimat is on 2nd and 3rd floor. There is toilet and ablution area
I was here for Friday Prayer. The mosque is awesome. Super clean and they provide all praying facilities. Ablution room is available at the first floor, and the praying room is located on the 2nd and 3rd floor. We need to use stairs. Wheelchair access was not available. Khotbah was conducted in english. Please note that you might have found that the mosque gates were locked. The mosque will be open 10 minutes before praying time, and the Friday Prayer will be conducted around 15-30 minutes after praying time. This might be different from other mosque schedules.
Was there last week for Eid prayer, good community
