313-7 Gionmachi Kitagawa, Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto, 605-0073, Japan
One of the best vegan eats in Japan! My partner and I were in need of a tasty, nutritional and substantial meal after days of inari and rice balls. ZIRAEL surpassed everything we wanted. The food was fresh, full of colour, hearty and so yummy! Even better the atmosphere and service was very welcoming and warm. The owner and chef were genuinely lovely and ensured we had a pleasant experience. 100% recommend to anyone vegan or not in Kyoto looking for a great meal ?
A bit hard to find, but once inside you'll have a great time. Easily the best lunch we've had in Japan over the last 2 weeks of travelling. Staff are super friendly and the food is absolutely amazing. I cant fault this place at all, I wish I could give it 6 stars!
Small place down a quiet alley that I am so glad I found. I hadn’t heard anyone online talking about this place but decided to try it after a long and hectic day. the staff was so kind and explained all the elements of our meal. this was the most filling and comforting meal I’ve had during my whole trip. I highly recommend the ginger fried soy
This restaurant is located down an alley; we almost missed it. It's a tiny hole-in-the-wall spot, but that just adds to its charm. It only seats about 9-10 people. We were lucky there was no other customer when we arrived because we were a group of 7. Now, let's talk about the food. It was hands down some of the best vegan food I've had anywhere. The dumplings were delicious and cooked to perfection. The salad that came with the meal was so filling! The dressing was simply oil and salt, but it was so good. The depth of flavor in this dish was unreal. This place is worth checking out, even if you're not vegan. Good food is good food!
We sat at the bar and chatted with the two friendly women working there. They served us up their signature Japanese cobb salad with dumplings. Despite looking very photogenic, something about the photos on Google Maps had lowered our expectations of this place despite the great reviews...and that was a mistake. The food was FANTASTIC. Seriously it was one of the best things we ate on the trip and I could happily eat this same meal for lunch every day. The dumplings were amazing and the salad was so tasty, fresh, and delicious. The extra-friendly service was the cherry on top. Actually the cherry on top might have been the delicious chocolate cake we couldn't resist ordering!
