This was definitely the best meal of the trip so far, and i’d be (pleasantly) surprised if anything beats it. While it was a bit pricier than our other dinners, ~$40 for a multiple-course tasting menu doesn’t feel bad by many standards. It’s also a one man show and the chef is fantastic and was very accommodating of dietary restrictions (I am vegetarian, and my friend is allergic to fish and peanuts). I really believe that the best types of meals are ones that make me want to change the way i cook, and this was one of those.
Really amazing course-set meal! The space is intimate and the owner is very friendly. He is very passionate about making the dishes and the attention to detail from the dishes to the food, is phenomenal! Highly recommend. You need to make reservation ahead of time though. We were able to make one for same day. Very vegetarian friendly, with tailor dishes to replace meat ones. Higher price per person, but worth the experience.
Stopped in on a whim and luckily was allowed without reservation. We had the 7 course chef’s choice and it was perfection. Probably the best meal I’ve had since arriving in Japan and what a special experience to sit and watch your meal made in front of you. Definitely recommend adding on the house made plum wine.
Every piece of every course of our meal was incredible. Wish I took a picture of the avocado onion appetizer—one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Great atmosphere as well. Highly recommend, particularly for vegetarians/pescatarians.
Arrived late at 9pm for a walk in and they managed to seat us. Felt a little rushed as I think they wanted to clean down and close the restaurant. 19100 yen for the set menu and glass of sake. Fantastic food all created by one chef. Food was incredible quality, great for vegetarians. And left feeling full after trying some unique dishes!
