My partner and I came twice in one week because we enjoyed the food so much. It’s reasonably priced, generously portioned, and served fast. We tried different entrees and dishes each time and each had a distinct flavour (unlike other Indian restaurants in Brisbane we’ve noticed everything tastes the same). The restaurant reminds me so much of when I visited India - with 1940s Bollywood posters on the walls, soft traditional music, and a large vegetarian menu (in India, most curries are meat-free). The owner is the cutest, smiliest man, and the young waitress was lovely she gave me complimentary extra sauce because I liked it :-))

One of the most shocking and unacceptable experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant — and that too while celebrating a birthday!

We went as a group of friends and ordered just rice and daal, no roti or naan. The elderly lady owner even knew one of our friends, so we expected at least respectful service. After a decent wait, we finally got our food.

But the moment we started eating, a server came and took the rice away from our table, saying it was “finished.” Then, shockingly, the owner told them to take OUR rice and give it to the group sitting next to us! We were stunned and completely humiliated.

She said she would bring more rice — but that never happened. And despite all this, we were still charged for the rice. In the end, all we ate was daal.

What made this experience worse was the owner’s attitude, especially towards us being Indian. It felt like there was no respect at all, even though we were polite and had paid like any other customer.

I don’t want any fake apology, generic response, or damage control after this review. You had your chance to do the right thing — and you chose to humiliate your own guests instead.

Absolutely disgraceful experience. Would never return.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at this authentic Indian restaurant, and from the moment we walked in, we were treated to exceptional service and a warm welcome. The staff went out of their way to ensure our every need was met, and we were never left wanting for attention.
Our meal began with a cold beverage, which were promptly delivered while we perused the menu. Although it's a BYO establishment, the restaurant offers a range of soft drinks, unfortunately it was a minor let down that our drinks were lacking ice.
However, the main event - the food - was truly the highlight of our visit! Our table of five all agreed that the dishes were delicious and impressed by the extensive selection of authentic Indian meals.
While we praised the dishes, we did express some mild disappointment (no pun intended) with the lack of heat in our meals. Even the infamous Vindaloo, known for its bold and spicy kick, was surprisingly mild in flavour, and our medium-cooked meals seemed to lean more towards a mild than a medium. Nonetheless, this didn't detract from our overall enjoyment, as every bite was still a joy to savour.
The staff, comprised of friendly and attentive individuals, were always on hand to answer questions and offer guidance on the menu choices. Their hospitality was truly a standout aspect of our visit, making us feel like valued guests rather than mere customers.
I highly recommend this hidden gem for its authentic flavours, exceptional service, and warm hospitality.

We had the whole downstairs section to ourselves. We were able to BYO. The food, service and atmosphere was great! We had the banquet, it is such a good deal. Can highly recommend this place.
