Ignore the bad reviews! The food was amazingly delicious and flavorful, with a chill atmosphere… food was made pretty fast, but it wasn’t a busy time. The whole restaurant is a one man operation so do keep it in mind if you’re in a rush or arrive with a large group. I’ll be going back as many times as possible before leaving Kyoto! I loved the veggie quesadilla most. Note: it’s NOT a full veg restaurant, they have different options to choose! Also it’s required to buy a drink, but again they have a lot of choices.. and if you convert yen to dollars it’s actually not that much. Think of it as your substitute for leaving a tip (except you get something for it!)..
Really loved our dinner here! Great food, loved the vegan curry plate. Tho there aren’t many food options, one of the best food we had here at Kyoto! Also the cafe is run by an amazing chef, kind and friendly. Also a great artist, recommend checking out their studio upstairs! Would definitely recommend:))
I came here during off peak hours at around 3pm so I was the only one dining by myself. It was a perfect way to wind down in the middle of the day. My food came out very quickly. I ordered the vegan curry and it still lives rent free in my head. The textures and flavors were so unique and different. I enjoyed every bite. It was absolutely incredible and one of the best meals I had in Kyoto.
Went to this hidden cafe twice. Even though the food options are more limited (one vegan option and one vegetarian option) the food is fresh and good, and the artsy atmosphere and the nice owner is a vibe. You can also draw in some books near the window while you wait for your food.
I ordered the Vegetable Curry and it was the best meal I have had in my entire life. I am so serious, it was absolutely incredible. The flavors were outstanding and I was scraping my plate clean. I ate it so fast. And the vibes of the restaurant were immaculate. It is upstairs, and relatively small with very cool, edgy/ artsy vibe and decor throughout. It reminded me of some restaurants in Portland. There was one man working, taking all orders, serving drinks and making the food. I dream of this place and the Vegetable curry. I am so excited to someday come back. Literally the best meal I have had in my entire life. You MUST go!!
