Best indian restaurant so far in Sydney in terms of quality of food and flavours. This restaurant is in Surry Hills Sydney and quite close to the light rail station. We ordered Rogan Josh, Tawa Chicken, Butter Garlic Naan, Masala lemon soda. The papad with mint and coriander chutney was complementary and was absolutely lovely. The food was worth what you paid for. The staff were real polite and welcoming. They also have alcohol options if you prefer to drink and their playlist is fire. Such a vibe. Early 2000 Bollywood songs. I would say if you feel home in terms of food, this place is for you. Must visit ❤️
During our 4 days stay at Sydney Australia. We had a chance to visit Maya Da Dhaba three times for lunch. We were a group of 17 people. First time everything was delicious but we felt paneer little bit sweet in taste and we gave them feedback and on next visit they made it spicy as per our request. Overall staff behaviour was very good. We enjoyed food on our every visit to Maya Da Dhaba.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Maya Da dhaba Indian Restaurant. The food was incredibly delicious – every bite was bursting with rich, authentic Indian flavours. We like the taste and tradition in every dish. Even though we drove almost an hour to get there, it was completely worth it. The moment the food arrived, we knew we made the right choice. From the spices to the packaging everything was good. If you're craving true Indian cuisine, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for flavorful, high-quality Indian food. We’ll definitely be coming back again!
I ordered the Rogan Josh with steamed rice and the basic naan. The dish had an exotic charm, and the portion was generous enough for a satisfying meal. It included some chilies, so it was fairly spicy — but right at the level I can enjoy. The lamb wasn’t particularly soft or tender; not tough, but just a little disappointing. The main issue was the saltiness. It was too salty for my taste, though that might be due to my personal preference or unfamiliarity with traditional Indian dishes. The interior was excellent, and while I didn’t see the kitchen, the tables and plates were clean, suggesting good hygiene. Also, a nice touch: they provided free Indian crackers (papadam) and mint chutney before the meal, which added to the experience.
