Popped by to try the famous Putu piring! Made fresh upon order, these were still quite soft even though we ate it much later. With gula melaka as the filling & grated coconut at the side, these weren’t too sweet. Furthermore, it makes an affordable snack at $2.50 for 4 pcs. IG @pingguo301
Very nice Putu Piring. Only one flavour "gula melaka". Worth a try. This stall is located inside Haig Road Food Center. Some stalls in this food center only accepts cash, i suggest bring along cash when visiting. And quite many stalls do not provide extra cutleries when requested. The food center is warm and stuffy on a hot day. Crowded during meal hours too. Washroom and hand wash area available nearby.
A local malay desert of rice flour pancake filled with brown rock sugar n eaten with fresh grated coconut flesh . Best enjoyed over a cup of Indian made tea called tea tarik. The pancakes are freshly made on the spot upon order n best eaten pipping hot. The boiling hot strong tea with nice floral fragrance, made with condensed milk n dragged in the air to cool the drink that makes a froth on the top of the drink. Give it a go n you will be hooked by the rich flavours. Great for tea time or after meals.
Warm tasty Putu Piring with a decent amount of coconut filling. Love the Rojak that was well made. Pleasant atmosphere & perfect food over a cup of hot ginger tea. Loved it!
