Outstanding hotel, certainly one of the best I've stayed at. I had high expectations coming into this stay and they were exceeded! The service at the hotel is fantastic and helped make it an unforgettable experience. The rooms and property are beautiful. There was plenty of space in the room and also offered great features such as the bathroom. The location was exactly what I was looking for in Kyoto and made it easy to get around to find restaurants and other touristy destinations. The property was amazing to walk around and includes all the amenities that you could want such as the pool, fitness center, and hot tub. They also offered an afternoon tea and pastry shop which was nice to take advantage of in the mornings. Service is some of the best I've had at any hotel. Naoto was great and helped complete the check-in process in my room. All the other staff I interacted with were very friendly and helpful. I appreciate the help the concierge gave me in finding restaurant reservations for my family. They ensured I had a great stay throughout even up to checkout. As I left, they offered to assist with arranging transportation and following up on how I enjoyed the stay which I greatly appreciated. I would love to come back here if I find myself back in Kyoto.

My stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto was nothing short of incredible. The service was flawless from start to finish—easily some of the best we’ve experienced anywhere in the world. Special thanks to General Manager Carlos, whose warm presence and attention to detail truly elevate the entire experience. The hotel is a perfect blend of traditional Japanese beauty and modern luxury, with stunning views, beautifully designed rooms, and world-class dining. This is not only one of the best hotels in Japan—it may very well be the best Ritz-Carlton anywhere. An unforgettable experience. I can’t wait to return.

Incredible experience at the Ritz and we have Rosario to thank! She was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The property is located in a serene area near the river. The beds are spacious (almost comically so). Breakfast is good, though coffee service is a little slow so order that quickly! No notes - a lovely stay during our honeymoon!

We had a lovely stay here in Dec ‘23. The property was beautiful and conveniently located without being near the busy streets. We had both the Japanese and Western breakfast buffets, the Japanese one was our favorite with the fish being rotated every other day. The croissants were heavenly. We love that the staff remembered our name and greeted us as we come in for breakfast the next day. The bike tours were another highlight. We had 3 tour guides, all very awesome; we learned a different thing from each of them. We also had lunch at the Michelin-starred tempura restaurant - very delicious. We were given gifts at various points during our stay, from chocolates to framed pictures. This made us felt a personal touch. Overall 5/5 in all category, properties, food, location, and service.
