The MONday apartment hotel chain seems to be a reliable collection of apartment hotels. This hotel is located a bit further away from the busier Kyoto areas but it is right next to the Marutamachi subway station so it’s still very convenient to get around (I actually prefer this location because it quieter and away from the tourist hustle and bustle). The room we booked was the Grand Japanese Room for 5 people, but in reality, it’s probably better for 3 adults and 2 young kids. The vanity and the toilet are in the same room, so only 1 person can use them at any one time. What’s good is there are at least 4x USB charging points in the bedroom. The cleanliness is notable. Although the hotel is not brand new, everything seems well cleaned. The hotel also offers a complimentary bus service to visit the Golden Pavilion Temple (morning) and the Arashimaya Bamboo Forest (afternoon) and is a welcomed touch making it so convenient to go to / from these attractions. There is a laundry on the ground floor next to reception (this is handy because reception can manage laundry if someone forgets to remove their laundry). There is also a vending machine in the laundry and the prices are same as you’d find elsewhere. Reception seems to be always staffed with multiple people and they all speak perfect English. We managed to delay out check out time for a very reasonable fee (I recall Yen 1000 per hour). There is a buffet breakfast (at extra charge). A recommendation for improvement would be to supply coffee sachets or something like that. They have an ample selection of Japanese and western tea bags, but no coffee. Overall, a nicely run and well maintained hotel offered at reasonable prices.
The breakfast buffet was delicious, and the restaurant staff were friendly. I wish they add more variety of fruits but I still enjoyed the pineapple a lot! Being close to the station was a plus point. The front desk staff suggested a shuttle sightseeing bus, but since we already had plans, we missed that opportunity. I would love to try it on my next visit! Overall, i had a pleasant stay.
I LOVE everything about this hotel : the staffs are so kind and helpful, the room’s comfortable, provide complete amenities, delicious and various breakfast, and they also have the shuttle to take you to Golden Temple and Bamboo Forest for FREE! Trust me, this hotel is best value for money. You won’t regret your decision to stay here ;) Not to mention that they also have Indonesians Staffs who are super helpful, they even help us to recommend halal restaurant around Kyoto. Thank you so much!
This is the first time I stayed here. Nothing to complain! I really love service. Staff help a lot and inform many things should we know. The room is large and clean. Bed is good for sleeping. Actually there is the shuttle bus. However, I recommend to book in advance. There are fully booked may be 2-3 days advance ???? I will review more in my Tiktok channel. Very impressive!
Good space and good location for the price (very important that it's right above a subway line, however, do note that subway's Exit 6 does not have elevators, take Exit 5 for elevators). Additionally there is free shuttle to locations which is awesome. Hotel also feels clean and modern. Please note the shuttle bus schedule, if you take the last one of the day toward the attraction then you can take subway or other ways back.
