2 Chome-3-25 Dotonbori, Chuo Ward, Osaka, 542-0071, Japan
Our family of 7 (5 kids & 2 parents) stayed at the Dotonbori Hotel for our first ever family holiday and honestly, this hotel was the best part of our holiday. The free ice cream and free drinks kept the kids happy, the free beer and cocktails kept hubby and I happy. The buffet breakfast took the stress out of mornings and allowed us to try some of the traditional Japanese foods, while also filling up on our favourites. (The square Japanese pastries are the best things I've ever eaten!) Plus, the nightly cultural events were a beautiful touch, helping give us a taste of the Japanese culture. And the staff were incredibly polite and friendly! A perfect place to stay, especially with children, and only minutes walk from everything you need.
Dotonbori is arguably the best area to stay in Osaka if you want to be in the centre of the restaurant scene and the shopping district and the Dotonbori hotel is in the best location possible just a short five minutes’ walk to the Namba subway station The greatest asset of the hotel are its staff, providing courteous and efficient service always with a smile. One afternoon they dressed up the guests in traditional Japanese attire and it was a wonderful experience and a great photo-op. The complimentary massage chair, drinks and ice-cream in the lobby is a welcome addition. The breakfast buffet was adequate to start your day with a variety of Asian and Continental dishes. The room is a little on the smaller side but was just comfortable enough for two adults. Would definitely stay again.
Stayed with friends in early March and had a great time. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the lobby amenities were awesome. Drinks and cup of noodles were great after a long day out if you did not want to have to leave again. Massage chairs kept my back from stiffening up after all my trips out and about. Breakfast buffet is a great start to your day. Room and bathroom are not huge(I am 6'3 300 lbs)but most things are small to me, haha. Still a great time for the money spent. I will definitely stay here again when I next get to visit Osaka. Thank you so much
We stayed a week in april at Dotonbori Hotel, staff was great at check-in and made sure we knew what was going on and how everything worked. We got great help in using the luggage service to send our bags forward to the next Hotel. The lobby having not only free drinks and ice cream but also tables to be able to eat takeout or whatever was an unexpected great asset to have and if i could give them an extra star for just that i would.
The smallest hotel room of all those we stayed. Room was clean but old. The bathroom can only fit one person at a time. Hard to close door when using the toilet. Don’t book the smallest room! We booked the second smallest room and we felt claustrophobic after one night. The free offering was plenty here. We appreciate the free massage chairs. Use them as it was the best part of the day after walking 20k steps daily. Front desk tries to help with limited English.
