Had a plate of nasi padang and pempek, it taste sooooo good! I love the paru goreng, the gulai, and of course the pempek. You can taste the fish and not much of a flour. The owner/Bli very friendly and service is top notch! ????
Nestled conveniently close to the iconic Glico Man sign, Matahari Padang Dotonbori offers a delightful culinary experience just a short elevator ride up to the 5th floor. The food served here is nothing short of excellent, boasting flavors that tantalize the taste buds and leave a lasting impression. Each dish is meticulously crafted to mirror the enticing images showcased on the menu, showcasing the culinary expertise of the Indonesian chef behind the scenes. One thing to note is that while dining spaces in Japan tend to be compact, especially those catering to Halal offerings, Matahari Padang Dotonbori ensures that the quality of the food surpasses any spatial constraints. Despite the cozy setting, the warm ambiance and delectable aromas contribute to a memorable dining experience. Overall, Matahari Padang Dotonbori delivers on its promise of exceptional taste and authenticity, making it a must-visit for those seeking flavorful Indonesian cuisine in the heart of Japan's bustling Dotonbori district.
Great Indonesian food. Portion is quite good. The service is quite fast. Can cater 20+ people at one time. The view is amazing, from the high floor. Easy to access, just need to be careful on the ground floor for its signboard. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Lots of people came here during my visit.
Easily one of the best Indonesian restaurants in downtown Namba. Authentic taste, very close to the original taste of Padang, which is amazing considering the limitation of seasoning available. The staff are also super friendly and service is great. Conveniently located in the center of Osaka Namba, just a short walk from Dotonbori. A bit pricey but acceptable, especially for Indonesians missing the taste of Indonesian food, in this case Padang. Recommended!
Small Indonesian restaurant. Difficult to find a table and finally got one for my third visit. I ordered a set (mixed) dish of nasi padang. Very tasty with my favorites in the dish are telor balado (hard-boiled egg with spicy sambal, very close in terms of authenticity), gulai ayam (chicken curry), rendang, and paru goreng (deep-fried beef lungs). Should try. Highly recommended.
