The hotel is in a very good location. I liked that it had a laundry room for guests. I would like the breakfast buffet to be more varied and complete with regard to cereals and fruits, as well as a greater variety of coffees, since they only have American coffee.

The Distinction is an excellent hotel located right in the center of Christchurch; within easy walking distance of most places. Bedrooms were really clean and comfortable. The hotel restaurant has an excellent breakfast. This hotel was picked for us by a tour company and we are happy they picked such a fine hotel.

A wonderful hotel with a great location. Depending on room location, you can see Cathedral square or the hills around the city. Staff was polite, courteous and attentive. Dinner and buffet breakfast were great. Worth the stay and will plan on next trip

My wife and I stayed at the groups Dunedin property and found it excellent and on the strength of that decided to have our last night in NZ , along with our children this time in Christchurch's Distinction Hotel It's a great location, sitting just behind cathedral Square, on the route at the tram and a nine minute walk to the botanical Gardens. Our suite was clean, large and well appointed. The Bathroom was excellent and the beds were very comfortable. We got up late on our last day and came to breakfast about 10 minutes before it closed but without asking the staff indicated to us they would keep the buffet open until we finished. I couldn't fault either the food or the service. Our bags were kept securely for us by the concierge while we spent our last day sightseeing and the hotel ordered a maxi-cab which turned up on time. in terms of pricing, I couldn't fault it. We shared a family suite and paid less than $400 for the room and a little over $100 for breakfast for five. This is an excellent chain of hotels. I wish they'd open a few across the ditch in Oz. I thoroughly recommend this property.

We lucked out with a large corner room. Property in excellent condition. The free guest laundry was an unexpected little perk. Staff very accommodating.
