Was gifted a voucher for the 7.30 dining aboard the tram restaurant. Warmly greeted on arrival, we checked in our coats and then were escorted to our table. The tram slowly trundled around the track while we enjoyed a three course meal paired with some beautiful NZ wines. It is very cosy and best suited to couples or very small groups. As there is no room to move around. A two hour dining experience not to be missed when visiting Christchurch.

Great dining experience in Christchurch! Highly recommend for couples (I guess not so much for family as young children not allowed). We took the 5pm (1.5h) slot and wish we went for a longer 7pm (2h) slot instead. Time passed quickly as we dig into the delicious 3 courses. Would be great if there was more time to savor the meal and complementary wine. Food and service were amazing. Thank you for the lovely experience!

We had set menu at 07:30 pm~ This was such a romantic dinner with my husband. We decided to pair it with wine, and we were not disappointed—it was perfect! The view of the city was amazing, and people stopped to take pictures of the tram. We felt like superstars! ? We took the 7:30 PM one, and it was lovely to watch the sunset. Highly recommend it for special occasions! This was our first wedding anniversary!

This was such a nice experience! May take some getting used to hearing the glasses clang against each other when the tram first departs. Overall food was well done, especially considering it’s such a small kitchen that’s moving. One chef does everything, big kudos to him! Thank you for the lovely experience ?

I am so glad that I got to experience the Tramway Restaurant while in Christchuch. I had heard so many amazing things, I simply couldn’t help but book in to experience it for myself. We booked for a 7:30pm slot, and it was absolutly divine! The team of Joy and Arian, instructor Paul and chef Zihan were outstanding. The food was to die for, every course so rich with flavour, and a perfect size that you were ready for the next. The staff were checking in to see all was well, there in a heartbeat to top up drinks, and were incredibly kind. We felt so comfortable throughout our experience here, and that comes entirely from the staff. I cannot recommend higher, it was such a privilege to get to take the Tramway Restaurant, and I thoroughly look forward to doing it again!
