We did a one day kintsugi class at Kuge Crafts and it was one of the most precious memorable experiences we had in Japan. They are extremely friendly and kind people and we would recommend this workshop to all handcraft lovers out there!
Best Kintsugi experience you can have in Tokyo. Step by step you will learn all about Kintsugi. They are so kind and good teachers! I can’t wait to come back ?
Yoshiko-san has learnt to speak on English using online resources and is an excellent communicator for non-Japanese speaking students. Their advise and guidance has been priceless to discover the art of Kintsugi
I would say this workshop needs more fame, but apparently their schedule is already packed, and there’s no surprise why. Yoshiko-sama & Yoshiichiro-sama are masters of Kintsugi and are the sweetest couple ever. So you can be rest assured that attending their workshop (even the one-day one) means that you’ll be in great hands. The concept of Kintsugi is beautiful and should be applied to life, not just broken ceramics. Would 23/10 recommend attending the workshop for such a unique and authentic cultural experience in Japan.
Our experience was great! We started off with a homemade dessert treat, and Yoshiichiro and Yoshiko were lovely. They patiently walked us through the process of creating our own pieces, and gave us information on equipment to purchase here in Japan in order to do kintsugi back home. Overall a lovely way to have a personalized souvenir and learn more about the art of Kintsugi.
