Since this was the only church we stopped by in Beijing, we didn't have a way to compare it, but it looked like any other Catholic Church in Europe or the Americas. We spent some time here resting and enjoying the peaceful environment. This one is dedicated to st. Joseph.

A historic Roman Catholic church. The church’s architecture harmoniously blends Romanesque elements with traditional Chinese features, creating a unique aesthetic. Inside, the serene atmosphere offers a peaceful retreat from the bustling city. The spacious square in front of the church serves as a popular gathering spot for both locals and visitors, especially in the evenings when the church is beautifully illuminated. Regular Masses are conducted in Mandarin and English, welcoming worshippers and tourists alike. 

Massive and very old (by Chinese Christian standards) church. Nice architecture and in the middle of downtown Beijing. We didn't go in by it looked great from the street.

The church is the only one that’s open to the public at any time. It is easy to access being along the shopping strip of Wangfuching. There is a small park in front and it’s best to visit around 4pm as families will be there, with kids playing. When I went there was a child practising her cello - beautiful music. The church is simple and peaceful. We had only a short time with some parishioners in a prayer session in Mandarin then they politely informed us that the church was closing (5pm).
