More than worth the admission price. Be sure to walk all the way to the top for the stunning view.

Beautiful place to see historical Japanese architecture and gardens. Just be careful when you pay at the gate. Admission is 500 yen, have the right coins because if you give 1,000 yen lady in the box would try and keep it and not give you change. Otherwise very Beautiful

常寂光寺の仁王門は、日蓮宗大本山本圀寺客殿の南門を移築したものです。 境内の建築物の中で最も時代の古い建物で、茅葺き屋根の仁王門は珍しいです。 仁王像は身の丈八尺あり、運慶の作と伝わっています。 仁王像は目と足腰の病に御利益があるとされ、 わらじを奉納して病気平癒の祈願をされる方もおられます。 また、紅葉の名所でもあり、茅葺き屋根の立派な山門とモミジのトンネルとの風景はとても美しいです。
