Amazing experience!! We did the safari on 23rd of March in the morning and it was brilliant, the guide very professional and with a lot of experience. We saw a lot of animals including a Leopard, jackal, cocodrile, water buffalo, mongoose, etc. Really worth it.

A magical day in Yala NP very much helped by our excellent guide and driver from wild trails safari. We opted to stay near the quieter part of the park ( block 6 ) . We were not disappointed, wall to wall birds and more. We pretty much had the place to ourselves selves . Our guide ensured we saw as much as possible but in a relaxing and fun way . We specifically asked him not to spend time looking for leopard as we just wanted to enjoy the day with what ever presented it self . We were surprised when our guide received a message re. A sighting , not far from where we were . Happily they were not surrounded by hundreds of vans , just 2 quietly parked . The day had been wonderful with out the leopard sighting it just put the icing on the cake . We were also treated to a luxury lunch in the bush , one of the best meals we had in the 18 days we were there . Cooked by the guides wife , delicious and beautifully presented .

We had a great day with the WILD Trails Safari Team. In the morning, we had some great sightings of birds in Block 6, along with elephants and crocodiles. After that, we took a break and were served an amazing lunch—some of the best food we had during our 8-day trip. We then went looking for leopards and were lucky enough to spot one. Throughout the day, we were given plenty of information about the animals and the national park, which made the experience even better. Our guide, Shehan, made the day truly special with his knowledge, passion, and friendly approach. This was by far the most knowledgeable safari we've experienced during our 8-day safari and birding trip in Sri Lanka. It was clear that our guide had a deep understanding of the wildlife and habitat, and he communicated this with clarity and passion. His ability to engage in meaningful conversations about wildlife added immense value to our experience. The day was perfectly balanced between adventure and relaxation. Our guide had an excellent sense of when to pause and when to push forward. His commitment to finding a leopard was incredible—and it paid off. We had a breathtaking 40-minute private encounter with one, a moment we'll never forget. We understand how rare such sightings are, and the most impressive thing is that even if we hadn't seen the leopard, we would still have rated this as a 5-star experience. Incredible Safari Experience with WILD Trails Safari – A Photographer’s Dream! My 2.5 days in Yala National Park with WILD Trails Safari were nothing short of extraordinary! From start to finish, the team ensured an unforgettable wildlife photography experience, thanks to their expertise, dedication, and passion for the park and its inhabitants. Shehan, my guide and naturalist, was absolutely fantastic. As a photographer himself, he truly understands the nuances of wildlife photography—lighting, angles, and positioning. Along with two incredible drivers for Section 5 and Section 1 of Yala, they worked seamlessly to position the safari vehicle for the best possible shots while respecting the animals’ space. The moment we stopped, the engine was turned off, and everyone remained still and quiet, allowing for undisturbed wildlife behavior and stunning photo opportunities. What set this team apart was their commitment to guest experience. Shehan and the drivers consistently checked in to ensure I was getting the shots I wanted, adjusting plans as needed to maximize sightings and lighting conditions. Their deep knowledge of animal behavior—especially leopards and bears—meant we were often in the right place at the right time. Trusting their lead was key, as their daily presence in the park gave them unmatched insight into wildlife movement. Beyond their professionalism, their enthusiasm and respect for nature made the trip even more special. Wonderful safari with the very hospitable Shehan who has immense knowledge of the fauna, birds, and flora of this beautiful national park. The bird life was particularly impressive. The park is less crowded than the main Yala section, allowing us to enjoy the safari without hordes of Jeeps turning up the moment an elephant was sighted. His driver did a wonderful job getting us around in safety and comfort. Highly recommend.
