Two large collections are astonishing in their numbers and the area on the world map, they cover. One seems to be a collection of holy scriptures from different parts of the Islamic world. Some of these scriptures are handwritten copies and some embroidered in gold. The other collection is miniature construction of most of the great mosques in the Islamic world. Absolutely fantastic to see what architecture has been used in the different regions of the world for mosque construction. There are other collections such as ceramics and clothing as well as calligraphic engravings in different woods. Absolutely worth seeing in my opinion. The entrance fee is 20 RM for tourists.

Beautiful museum. I especially liked the models of important mosques throughout the world, and the beautiful domes of the building. I do wish the patios were open. My only negative was that I walked into the gift shop 16 minutes before closing and the ran up to me "We are closing. We are closed. You cannot stay we are closing." It seemed like an intense reaction. Otherwise a lovely experience.

Interesting museum, love the architechture here. Both Malaysian and tourist pay for the same price, myr20. Nice to learn about the old Malaya culture. It has a small kid library inside the museum with many interesting books. There’s a small Arabic restaurant inside, looks nice but I didn’t explore it. Also there’s a gift shop selling souvenirs with Islamic elements. Limited parking for free outside the museum.

This is a must see for Muslims and non Muslims alike. They have done an amazing job of preserving so much of not just Islamic history in the area, but general culture of SE Asia as well. I was blown away by the Huge collection of items they had, all with a ton of information. The staff was very friendly and I really enjoyed my time here. Alhamdulillah

The museum itself is a great piece of architecture, where one could spend a memorable and exceptionally peaceful 2hrs of their time. I left not only with a greater appreciation for Islamic history but regional and local events as well. Here are some things that caught my eye during my first visit: (1) the special exhibition titled “Oceans that speak” captured the arrival of Islam to the Malay world and the central role trade played in this (2) the Quran section and the kiswa/ Kaabah covering in its center, (3) the architecture section, showcasing an exhibit of most iconic mosques around the world. Keen to go back for more!
