Despite paying a small entrance fee, you'd expect it to be a little more up kept. Some "rooms" just have a clutter of furniture on the side and it's mentioned there "how it's supposed to look back in the day". A little disappointing but the mural on the outside looked good and the temple on the 2nd floor was nice and clean

You need to buy a ticket to visit here. The door into the yard from the street is small and easy to miss accidentally. There is a large courtyard inside, and the security guard is also responsible for selling tickets. The ancestral hall itself is very large and beautiful, with two floors, but it is basically vacant and unused. Some rooms are used to store old things, and the vitality of the past is no longer felt. It doesn’t take long to visit from downstairs to upstairs. There is another two-story building in the courtyard, which displays the family's history after leaving China. Overall, the architecture is beautiful, but the contents inside are dull and crude in comparison.

Beautiful building but the clan house itself could do with more information / better organisation. There isn’t much inside so you mainly go to admire the architecture. We did the clan house first and then realised there is a small dedicated museum across the grassy courtyard which gives some important context about the Cheah Clan. I would recommend doing the small museum first, and then the clan house itself.
