A nice and cozy stay. Rooms were clean and the setup was very similar to apartments I have visited of friends. They could better arrange the rooms to not make it so difficult to get to the hanging rods. The bathroom is very nice and the inbuilt amenities for laundry were great for our traveling group. I would stay here again. The reason for a loss of a star was that we were told the room would be cleaned on a certain day due to the length of our visit. No one came to clean either of the two rooms that were booked, but since we were too busy sightseeing to be bothered with it. They could also provide clearer instructions in other languages on how to use the washing machine since it has many settings most folks would not want to use.
I had a wonderful stay at Stay Sakura Kyoto Kiyomizu Gojo! The room was impeccably clean and well-maintained, making it feel like a home away from home. I especially appreciated the small kitchenette—it was perfect for preparing light meals during our stay. The in-room laundry machine was also a huge plus, especially for longer visits. The location is excellent—just a short walk from the beautiful temples and major tourist spots in Kyoto. It was so convenient to explore the area on foot. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. Overall, a fantastic place to stay if you’re looking for comfort, cleanliness, and convenience in Kyoto. Highly recommended!
I can't officially give half stars but I give this place 4.5 stars! My partner and I really enjoyed our stay here! The room we stayed in was very clean with a lot of amenities. The room has a small kitchen, a washer, a nice bathroom area, and a large bed. I especially enjoyed the heater in the shower area. There is no dryer but the hotel does provide a lot of hangers and clips for you to hang dry your clothes. On top of that the staff was very helpful anytime we needed anything! There is a FamilyMart and several restaurants directly across the street. It's about a 15 minute walk to the train station and within walking distance of a lot of activities and sights! Cons: The walls/floors are very thin and the hotel is right next to a fire station. Thankfully my partner and I are heavy sleepers so it didn't bother us much. But if you're a light sleeper this isn't the place for you. Getting to our closet area was a pain. The distance between the bed and the wall is about 6 inches at best. My partner and I had to shimmy/struggle to get to the closet area several times a day. We are both tall.
We chose this hotel because of the good reviews, and it still managed to surprise me (in a positive way). It’s very spacious and comfortable. The bed is large, there’s plenty of storage space, and it has everything you need for a complete stay: a washing machine (with soap tablets), a sink and kitchen utensils, and even a clothes dryer in the bathroom. The staff are polite, they provide umbrellas for guests, and everything is spotless. It’s also well located! I have no complaints at all.
Rooms are big enough, with laundry machine, separate spaces (kitchen / bathroom / toilet) comfortable beds, green tea and instant coffee in the kitchen for you to prepare it. Quiet at night and friendly employees. Location can be subjective as it is close to temples and historic landmarks but not that close to restaurants and nightlife. So it depends on what you’re looking for. Most bars and food however is about 15 min walking. There’s a family mart just in front of the hotel and a 7eleven about 2 blocks away. Pretty convenient. Overall a highly suggested option to stay in Kyoto.
