80 Tamamizucho, Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto, 605-0851, Japan
My wife and me visited Kyoto for two days. This Indian Nepali restaurant was near the place we stayed. On our first night there we searched for an Indian restaurant and found this. We had a good dinner there, the food was tasty and the portions big. The service was with a smile and the rates were very reasonable, If around do try this restaurant.
After seeing night scenery at the Kiyomizu-dera Temple, I felt very cold and I wanted something along the lines of curry. I found Namaste Dhaula Giri on 80 Tamamizucho. This is the main throughway between the Kiyomizu-dera Temple and generally the Gion district. Besides the sheer authenticity of the Nepalese food being served, I also enjoyed the atmosphere in the restaurant. Needless to say, this type of food likely resonates more so with the foreigner population in Kyoto than the locals. I felt very much at home there ordering in English and behaving in the typical foreigner’s way. It felt festive, lively and warm in the restaurant, and that was what I needed after freezing at the Kiyomizu-dera Temple for the night scenery viewing. Highly recommend. Perfect proof that foreign cuisine has a strong presence in Kyoto.
This is one of the best food I have ever had! I went to multiple restaurants in different country and I can say with confidence that this is one of the best restaurants out there. I went to similar restaurants before, but this one is definitely outstanding! If you love cheese then I definitely recommend the (garlic)cheese nans. The curries are also really well made with some rice or just nan. They also have a ALL YOU CAN EAT option for the fans. Least but not last, everything is HALAL. It definitely makes a good breakfast, lunch and diner. So you can come anytime!
Nice Indian place convenient to Yasaka pagoda & Gion. Garlic chicken curry & butter chicken wete quite tasty. Very good service.
