Fantastic experience! It’s certainly the best fresh tofu I’ve had in my life! I am a big fan of tofu and we had lunch here on weekend, it was busy but we had a reservation. We had the set meal both Yuba and Yudofu. I don’t know why the rating is low on Google reviews, they definitely deserve to get 5 stars! The service was excellent and also the view from the restaurant was awesome. You could see Kyoto from the hill.

We live here and can recommend it for visitors to Kyoto to experience tofu and yuba meals. Prices are very reasonable given the location. You basically make your own yuba by skimming the top off heated soy bean “milk”, and dip it into a mixture of soy sauce based sauce and chopped spring onions. Or you can order a pot of boiled tofu, using the same dipping.

Clearly a very popular place, as we went right at opening and were told there was only counter space left, which were fine with. About 15 minutes after we were seated, we saw several tours worth of people come in to the restaurant having pre-booked! And on leaving the restaurant, there was a sign hung to say “no more availability for today”. Food wise, it was a great experience trying yuba, skimming tofu skin off the top of boiling soy milk and dipping it into sauce. While I am more of a carnivore, I really appreciated the taste and texture of yuba, and very much enjoyed my experience. The side dishes of tempura, tofu skewers, and other assorted options included were solid as well. Glad to have had the chance to try this delicious tofu restaurant in Kyoto!

This was my first experience yuba meals ! Tofu skin off the top of boiling soy milk , and dipping into sauce ! If you are in Kyoto you must try this yuba meals !! The taste and texture of yuba is so delicious!
