41 Motoakuojicho, Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto, 600-8091, Japan
Just a block from the Shijo station with subway leading to everywhere I wanted to go, and several bus stops nearby for added flexibility. Also lots happening within walking distance. The room is quite small, and there's no closet (just a few wall hangers), but it checks all the basic boxes. The bed is comfortable, the heat is cranking, and the bathroom clean. The housekeeping staff was like clockwork but most days I just grabbed the water and didn't need them to clean. Very few facilities but that's to be expected from a budget option. I paid about 7500 yen a night and stayed a week. Can recommend!
Going into my trip I knew rooms in Japan were going to be small, however I didn’t find this room horribly small. It was spacious enough. Enjoyed all the amenities, free pajamas, and toiletry kits they gave out for free. Super convenient! It’s literally right off the main road of all shopping and nishiki market. I would book again just off of location!
Location is the best. Right in the city center and close to the food market and shopping are. Cons: room is small, no more space after we opened our size 28 and 20 luggages. Mold in the bathroom caulking. The liner filling has a washed but still-there blood stain mark.
Great hotel in the heart of Kyoto! Subway and bus stops are just 2 minutes away, and Nishiki Market is only a 5-minute walk. Rooms are small but perfectly fine for two people. Fresh water and towels are provided daily. The lobby also offers free hygiene products, which is a nice touch. Overall, a great stay and excellent value!
Stayed here for 5 nights. Room was clean. Room cleaning every 3-4 days. New towels every day. We slept at level 10. You can't open the window but AC was working well. A small inconvinience was that they didn't change our sheets because a tablet was on the bed. Wifi was OK, doe failing sometimes.
