Very nice hostel for relatively cheap. Clean and well designed. I loved the bunk bed layout, with the integrated shelving and storage - very functional and neat. Great location in a cozy yet central neighborhood. Would recommend!
One of, if not, the cleanest and most well maintained hostel i’ve ever stayed in. The staff were all very friendly and i had fun talking to them! The rooms are not the biggest but each individual bunk is spacious enough. Dotonburi is a ~20min walk away and there’s a family mart nearby, but the only downside about the location is that it’s a bit of a walk to the train stations (~10min). But I would still come back if I’m ever in Osaka for a solo trip again! Thank you Mistsuwaya team for a comfortable stay ❤️
Nice hostel, very clean and the common area downstairs were great for relaxing in. The location was also good. Staff could be a little friendlier, but would recommend to other travellers.
I had a lovely stay! It's cozy and feels like home, and the staff is welcoming. Some guests gave the same vibe, too. They have a kitchen, vending machine, washers and dryers for rent, shared space, and a rooftop deck for chilling. You can also hang clothes on a drying rack there. I was pleasantly surprised by a complimentary light breakfast, which wasn’t on my booking. Nice. They accept late check-ins, like 2 or 3 am, which is great! A heads up for light sleepers; it can be noisy. I had a hiccup at a nearby Lawson when someone took the umbrella I borrowed from their staff. When I explained, they were so understanding and assured me it was no problem, not charging me for it. Overall, it’s a memorable experience. I would consider staying there again!
Very nice hostel. Location is about 20 mins walk to the Dotonbori/Nippombashi area. You don't have to worry about no transport back after 12am. So the location is decent if you like the Namba area. 7-Eleven is just 1 street away. If you are itchy for late night supper, you can walk to Dotonbori area for Matsuya or Ichiran Ramen which are open 24 hours. Stayed here for 3 nights. During my stays, it seems that the counter is manned in both day and night. You can store your luggage if you arrive early. They reply promptly through booking.com which is where I booked it. There is a school beside. You might get some noise in the morning but it is only for a while which didn't bother my sleep. Rooms wise, all the dorms are on level 2. The room and the bed are quite spacious. You can put your luggage onto the bed and there will still be enough space to sleep. You can request for extra pillow at no additional from the counter. Towels rental is 100 yen. There are toilets and sinks at both level 1 and 2. Showers are in level 1. The overall cleanliness is very good and well maintained. You can see the staffs doing the cleaning diligently. Slippers are given for inside the building but you won't feel yucky even if you walk with just socks. The common area is quite cosy. There's free breakfast which is pretty much bread for toast. I noticed the water kettles were always empty. In my opinion, there could be a big container to store boiled drinking water so the guests can refill or drink water easily to hydrate themselves. There is a vending machine inside the building though which is a paid alternatives to get drinking water. Washing machine cost 200 yen. I think that includes the dryer. Staffs are friendly. Calvin was very warm during my stay. Overall I like this hostel very much. Good location, good cleanliness, spacious bed and friendly staffs. I hope the next time I come to Osaka I am able to book Mitsuwaya too.
