First time we had T’s ramen was on a flight to Tokyo. Zipair sells T’s Vegan Raman (instant) on the plane and we thought it was delicious. So delicious, in fact, that we sought out T’s Tantan when we were in town. This location is convenient if you go to the art museums, you enter the station at the entrance near the art museum and the shop is close to that entrance. We’ve tried the Black Sesame and the traditional Golden Sesame ramen. Both were good, I think the Black Sesame may be a bit richer in flavor. I read some reviews saying the White Sesame could be hot (spicy), but I didn’t see that option on the menu. In fact, none of the ramen that we saw on the menu were spicy, which is surprising given the fact that the instant ramen we initially had on the plane does in fact have a nice spice kick. You can request red chili oil on the side, but even that is moderately spiced. We also tried the vegetable gyoza and these were tasty, but the skin (wrapper) is a bit tough. The food is on the pricey side, but you can tell they use quality ingredients, and of course it’s unique for the fact they serve vegan food in Japan, so the extra cost is justified in my opinion. They also sell Heartland Beer brewed by Kirin, which has a nice flavor. I haven’t seen it around too much in Japan, and it pairs nicely with the ramen, so if you like beer give it a try. Service both times we went has been friendly and they speak English well.
I've been to T's before in a different location, with mom and my niece. we all ordered tantan ramen and liked it back then. A decade after I took my husband this time. my husband ordered a tantan ramen and a small rice with soy meat on top. I had a yuzu ramen changed to konjac noodles (¥100) and 3 gyoza. mine was really really good, oriental flavor with yuzu. Yuzu fragrance was quite nice after taste. I almost finished soup! gyoza was ok. My husband also loved the flavor, and finished the soup! He said most of Ramen joints were over salty but this ones was NOT! So, he definitely wants to come back for the bowl of noodles! No guilt cuz it's Vegan, too. Prices were very reasonable. # If you are out of the station, you can pay to get in for ¥150
Inside the JR gate, if you don't need JR it's 150 yen to tap in and out - but it's well worth it. Best vegetarian ramen I've ever had and it's not even close. Even meat eating friends say it's the best ramen they've had, as it's s tasty and not oily. Recommended the yuzu ramen and the gyoza.
Super cute little vegan ramen place in Ueno Station. We had a little bit of a wait to get in but it was totally worth it and the food came out fast. The service was impeccable and the ramen and gyoza were delicious. Would highly recommend if you’re in the area. It’s super close to Ueno Park and Ueno Zoo so a great location. The tonkatsu ramen was our favorite (the golden sesame one had a little more peanut-y flavor than I’d prefer but still yummy).
The sakura ramen (colored pink with beet juice) was absolutely DELICIOUS and had beautiful presentation! The wait was extremely short and the service fast. The vegan ramen broth and noodles had a great texture and depth to the flavor, and I would highly recommend coming here! We got a little lost trying to find it in Tokyo station and we're a little dubious about going to a restaurant in a Subway station, but I'm so glad that we did!
