I absolutely loved this place. The restaurant is run by a father and son who were both incredibly kind. Not only was the service great, but the food is phenomenal. The hummus was amazing, the chicken was to die for, and we were even given a piece of baklava with tea for dessert. There are plenty of options on the menu for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike! The restaurant is a little small, but it adds to that unique whole-in-the-wall atmosphere.

What a wonderfully warm and special little restaurant! My husband and I simply loved it; so much so we went on 2 of the 3 days we were in Tokyo… ? we would have frequented this great gem forever if we lived in Tokyo, but we were sadly just passing through and feel lucky to have found it. The spirit of this family run restaurant is a jewel to treasure… the food is prepared with an obvious love and care for the customer and the cook has a gift for flavour. The lovely gentleman hosted us with elegance and pure kindness, he was quiet, professional, friendly and gracious. We also enjoyed the lovely quaint surroundings, simple, but highlighted by vibrant small pieces of traditional art and with an overall down to earth nature the restaurant made us feel very relaxed and like we were at home. The fooooood… it was absolutely delicious, we had: mixed dip platter, warm fresh bread, an incredible beef stew and lentil soup and chicken doner plate and at the end of our feast we received a thoughtful and generous offering, complimentary tea served in a small glass on a lovely sourced and a slice of cake each I would quite happily die for. The peace of Hisar and its wonderful offerings made our time in the area and even inspired the idea that perhaps a journey to Turkey was in order… or maybe we will simply fly back to Tokyo again to enjoy this little slice of Turkey in Shinjuku and the pleasures of Hisar!

We had a wonderful meal in a warm, friendly atmosphere. He makes the best Turkish food you can eat in Japan. You should definitely visit. We also needed help with traveling around Japan, he made very good suggestions.

Was tempted to go in for the Turkish pizza but it's not available unfortunately. So ordered the scrambled egg: Menemen. The Turkish tea was complimentary.

We were thrilled to find this place and it didn't disappoint. The food took us back to Turkey. They had Menemen, Manti (my personal favorite) and Kunefe! The Kunefe you had to special order a day in advance. We stayed in Tokyo for 6 weeks and ate here about 10 times. It's that good! The pictures are Manti (Turkish ravioli) and the Kunefe! If you're used to good authentic Turkish food, this is the place for you!
