Visited for a weekday lunch. The food was definitely plentiful and tasted authentic. It was a delicious meal. Ordered the S Set meal, which came with a generous plate of salad, lentil soup, meat dish, unlimited pita bread, coffee or tea, and a small dessert. Even though it was on a busy street with lots of other restaurants, situated on the third floor of a small building, the place was full. It was a good thing we headed there just a bit early before the crowd came it. Nonetheless, it doesn’t seem like you have to wait long to get seats, and even if you had to, it would be worth it. Staff are all foreigners, from hall to kitchen. They do speak Japanese but be patient with then - they were not disrespectful or anything, but it wasn’t exactly the same kind of hospitality you would expect from a normal Japanese restaurant. They were friendly though, so much so that when the chef passed by our table, he didn’t mind answering our question about what ingredients in and how our food was cooked when we asked.
I live in Hokkaido and travelled to Tokyo for business trip. We do not have nice turkish place in Hokkaido and I miss the food. So I thought I will give Cankaya a try since I was visiting around Shinjuku. The food was super tasty. I chose the dinner course B with Adana kebab. Everything was delicious from Salad to soup to main. The propotions are reasonable. I felt full and satisfied after a hearty turkish dinner. I highly recommend!
I am very happy to find this restaurant near hotel since it’s hard to find halal food in Shinjuku Washington Hotel. The food is delicious and suits my taste. They even gave me free refill tea. So, if you want to eat halal food in Shinjuku, you may want to come here.
Very good place to enjoy turkish cuisine and lovely atmosphere and not to forget the owner was too kind and nice man . He offered us complimentary tea and sweet as we were fasting plz do check it out if you pass by this place you won’t regret.
Nice Turkish restaurant close to Shinjuku station. The restaurant is on the 3rd floor of a building. They have a few tables for seating so they get quite busy during the lunch rush. We ordered the chicken doner kebab set which comes with soup, salad, dessert, and a Turkish tea. Great value for how much food you get. Overall delicious! Service was friendly and fast!
