Loved it! If you want to have a south indian meal, or want to eat dal chawal, this is a good option. They have vegeterian options as well. We had veg thali with extra roti. Seating place limited. The location in on B1 cellar.
Tried Erick South at Grand Front Osaka and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I ordered the chicken biryani and also tried their biryani combo—both were absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and authentic, with perfectly cooked rice and tender, well-seasoned chicken. The combo also offered a nice variety that gave a good taste of different South Indian dishes. While the food was definitely impressive, I found the prices to be on the higher side for portion sizes. Also, the location was a bit tricky to find—tucked away in the basement of the Grand Front building. I had to circle around a couple of times before spotting the entrance. That said, if you’re craving flavorful biryani and South Indian cuisine in Osaka, this place is worth checking out. The quality and taste make up for the slightly premium price and hard-to-find spot. Great option for Indian food lovers in the area!
As a Keralite, I was delighted to find a place that finally gave South Indian cuisine the recognition it deserves! I was amazed when non-Indian chefs crafted our dishes with precision and passion. While the flavors may not pinpoint a specific state, they beautifully capture the essence of the region’s diverse kitchens, showcasing authentic preparation and presentation. Eric’s initiative and mastery of these culinary traditions are truly impressive! I highly recommend this experience. For those with a regular appetite, I suggest ordering the large portion directly, as I needed two regular portions to satisfy my hunger.
