In Japan my wife and I have been having better luck with ethnic restaurants than Japanese ones. Tonight it was Indian at Ajanta. Tomato soup served in a silver tea pot. Salad. Two curries and a huge Nan bread each. Plenty to eat at a very reasonable price. Close to the river and where we are staying. Wonderful.
Good Indian food. They served very nice tomato soup along with their dinner combo. Naan size was quite big and overall the meal was very fulfilling.
Just go for it!!! Amazing Indian food in Kyoto ! the staff is welcoming and the service is good. small place - always busy and tons of vegetarian options. Great taste !! We went twice once for lunch and once for dinner. Thenlunch menu is always a set in japan with fewer options vs dinner has a more options on menu.
Me and my family needed a break from Japanese food and saw this little Indian restaurant and wow. It was delicious! Close to my favourite Indian food I’ve ever had. The garlic naan and the butter chicken were amazing! If you feel like something non Japanese this is your place.
I loved this place! I highly recommend it. I came here with my boyfriend and took a diner menu for him and also got one for myself. The service was friendly, I asked for a lassi and asked if they could add cumin which they did. They have extremely generous portions (with unlimited rice or naan, a salad and a soup)! I really advise all their curries as I all those I tasted were delicious. I personally adored the spicy smell when you come in the restaurant. I would just take off a star in the service part since we arrived before another table and they got to order and get served first (I don’t know if it was due to the fact they were a large group or if they were Indian and so culturally prioritised). But this is just a detail.
