What is Jollibee?
Jollibee is a a famous fast food chain that originated in the Philippines and now has outlets all over the world including Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. Some of its crowd favourites are ChickenJoy, Beef Tenders, Adobo Rice and Peach Mango Pie. Their Jolly Spaghetti is also included as one of their top menu items and thanks to two Filipino-Americans, chef Tom Cunanan and Paolo Dungca, you can now make your very own Jollibee-style spaghetti!

Halal Jollibee-style spaghetti recipe

Ingredients (serves 8)
- 2 packets of spaghetti
- 3 x15 oz. (425g) can tomato sauce
- 1/2cuptomato paste
- 1 1/2lbsground beef
- 6 to 8piecesred hotdogs; sliced diagonally
- 1/2cupgranulated white sugar
- 1medium yellow onionminced
- 2teaspoonsminced garlic
- 2cupsbeef broth
- 1cupshredded Velveeta cheese or sharp cheddar cheese
- 2tablespoonscooking oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a cooking pot, heat the oil and saute the garlic and onion.
- Add ground beef and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Add tomato sauce and beef broth. Stir and let the mixture boil. Then, simmer for 1 hour.
- Add hotdogs and tomato paste. Stir and cook for 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Add sugar, salt and pepper. Stir everything until well combined.
- Plate the spaghetti, pour a generous amount of meat sauce over the past and top with cheese.
- Serve and enjoy!
