Just earlier this month, we shared with you all about Gula Creamery - a halal ice cream parlour in Shah Alam opened by Arieni Ridzal who also owns Gula Cakery. Today, we're taking a break from the sweet treats and serving you something a little more savoury that is Arieni's Roti Jala, another one of Arieni's amazing ventures in the halal food scene in Shah Alam ?
The inspiration behind the store came from Arieni's childhood days when she would make roti jala with her grandmother, Nenek Halimah. In hopes of sharing the deliciousness of this popular teatime snack with everyone, Arieni's Roti Jala was born and is claimed as the first roti jala concept store in Malaysia!
Here, you can look forward to their classic combo of premium, fluffy roti jala with a rich, chicken curry on the side (10pcs for RM18). If you'd like to add on extras, they have beef curry, chicken curry whole/half chicken and chicken curry (gravy only) to choose from.
P.S. Prefer making it on your own? Check out this easy roti jala recipe!
For something a little more special, why not give their set roti jala and serawa durian (10pcs for RM23) a try? Using D24 serawa durian and pure gula Melaka, it isn't a combo you get very often, but it's one that works based on how popular it is! So if you're feeling adventurous, make sure to have a taste.
