The Light To Night exhibition came as fast as it ended in our humblest opinion, and we truly miss it already. ? If you can't get enough of such immersive art experiences, perhaps you should earmark The Lume Melbourne’s new art installation, which takes Vincent van Gogh’s works to soaring new heights! ? Perfect timing now that Australia is reopening their borders soon. ?

P.S. Great news! Australia is reopening their borders, so why not check out these articles for your future trip to the Land Down Under?

Van Gogh Alive, an Immersive, Multi-Sensory Art Experience, The Lume Melbourne

The Lume officially opened its doors in Melbourne last November, and it is the first permanently housed digital art gallery in Australia. The exhibition, titled ‘Van Gogh Alive, an Immersive, Multi-Sensory Art Experience, showcases some of the best of Van Gogh’s art, such as The Starry Night to his Self Portraits to Sunflowers and The Night Cafe while promising a multi-sensory, fully immersive experience for visitors. ?

Over 3000 paintings, sketches, letters, and archive photos are turned into a larger-than-life experience involving large-scale projections all over the walls and floors, atmospheric soundscapes, gleaming lights and even piped aroma. It almost feels as if you are the subject matter of his beautiful art, while you view each piece from a wholly different perspective. Here’s what you can expect from this monumental, immersive experience. ?

One of Van Gogh’s personal favourites is Vincent's Bedroom In Arles, and you can literally walk and sit down in the painting! Taken from the canvas and brought to life in 3D, you can move around Van Gogh’s room, sit in his chair or on his bed or see the self-portraits he inserted into his works. ?

As you enter the main gallery, all of Van Gogh’s works are constantly moving and ever-revolving all around you. You can choose a spot against a wall, on the floor, or you perch yourself on The Lume’s balcony, and get lost in the beauty of his art. ? You don’t have to rush and try to catch any of his work because you won't miss a single thing. ?

Did you know that you can even eat inside one of Van Gogh’s paintings? The famous Terrace Café 1888 comes to life with a menu that reflects Van Gogh’s Dutch heritage with a touch of French influences, Van Gogh’s adopted city, while you sip coffee and enjoy the gallery’s projections of this exquisite art piece.
