Pizza Termini
Grab some of the best-tasting modern-day pizzas right at its birthplace, which is Italy! It may not be Naples, but Rome has some amazing dishes you can savour while touring the historic city. You can grab their pizzas with traditional Italian toppings such as mozzarella, basil, marinara sauce, or even eggplant if you desire a vegetarian pizza! More modern toppings are available to such as the ever-contentious pineapple. Despite its name, they do serve up other dishes such as different kinds of pasta, and steaks.

Amir Cioccolato e Pasticceria
If you leave Italy without trying Tiramisu, then did you even visit at all? Finding authentic halal tiramisu is hard as it is, as dark rum is a common alcohol used in tiramisu recipes. This chocolatier, however, makes tiramisu without the use of alcohol so that we can enjoy the taste of authentic tiramisu in it's birth country: Italy! Besides the tiramisu, they also serve up delicacies such as hot chocolate, pralines and chocolate by itself by the gram. If you're in the mood for some sweet treats, this is the place to go!

Ristorante Tehran
A restaurant serving Persian cuisine, it's nestled in between the historic buildings lining the streets of Rome. There is a bunch of dishes that you can try from which will definitely keep you satisfied as you walk through the city. There are as many as 11 appetisers that you can choose from, as well as a ton of dishes and desserts. You can expect dishes such as grilled meat with Persian rice Their prices range between €14 to €20.

Shawarma Station
A small storefront in Rome, this place serves your usual Mediterranean food but in big portions! The platters they offer can be shared with two people (or more honestly). They have your wraps as well as kofta meat on a stick for you to eat. The prices are cheap as they range from €1.50 to €9. The variety of dishes may be little but it's a great place to drop by for on-the-go snacking as you marvel at the wonders of the old city.

Flower Burger
This burger joint has some pretty instagrammable burgers on their roster. With colourful buns and Seitan patties, its a 100% vegan burger joint that serves many burgers, sides and even desserts. The colours are derived from natural ingredients such as tumeric and charcoal. They have a Special Edition burger called the Botanical Burger that you could try! It's a collaboration between the joint and Italy's queen of all things vegan, Carlotta of Cucina Botanica. Their website lists down every ingredient used in their burgers, so we recommend visiting it while on your travels in order to choose what you would like to eat!
Halal status: Vegan. They do not use alcohol in their dishes, however, we recommend asking the staff to confirm. Do dine at your own discretion.

Col Covalo
This eatery is an all-vegan bistro serving up a twist on some traditional Italian cuisine by making it vegan. They have salads, pastas and pies that you can try out. Their dishes also use seitan (wheat gluten) as a meat substitute as well as vegan cheese. It might be a small bistro, however it has many dishes that you can try! However, the bistro does serve alcohol in their establishment, we recommend you to dine at your own discretion.

Ali Baba Restaurant
Another Mediterranean restaurant, Ali Baba Restaurant serves up wraps with a variety of meat. They also have hummus dip, shawarma and other types of dishes that are usually linked to the Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant is near to the metro and is a 30-min bus ride to the Colosseum. So you can head down before or after your visit to the monumental architectural wonder. However, they do serve alcohol at their establishment.

Pescaria
Pescaria is a large restaurant chain selling fresh seafood in their restaurant. They pride themselves on their sustainable ingredients and a self-declared fast food establishment. If you're looking to cut down on the amount of single-use plastics, this restaurant is the place for you as they have cut out all usage of single-use plastics (they're one of the first fast food establishments to do so in Italy!).
They take into consideration a ton of diet restrictions such as gluten-free, allergies, coeliac and others too. As they prepare food separately for those with restrictions, do ask them on their use of alcohol in their cooking.
