6. Oishii Corner
Credit: Azman Zainal on Facebook Tucked away in a hawker centre in Toa Payoh, Oishii Corner serves a mix of authentic Japanese and fusion Japanese dishes. Owned by a Malay-Muslim couple, Mr Ramli Ibrahim and his wife, Mdm Ning Asih, the stall has been around since 2017 but it's still pretty much a hidden gem. According to Berita Harian, Mr Ramli was previously a cook before pursuing his own business. The best part is that prices of their dishes are super affordable, ranging from $4 to $6 for main dishes! Looking for something comforting? Whether you're craving Inari, Beef or Teriyaki Chicken or Chicken Katsu Curry Ramen, you'll surely be left satisfied. 7. Goshin Ramen
Goshin Ramen is the first halal-certified ramen restaurant at Singapore's own Changi Airport! Located at Terminal 4 of Changi Airport, they offer a variety of bases for their ramen broths, such as prawn and chicken/salt. Their menu is pretty extensive, but we're setting our eyes on their Ebi Ramen with a prawn-based soup. ? They use a traditional method of braising prawns for up to 36 hours to extract the natural sweetness of prawns, giving it a strong umami flavour. Not a fan of soup-based ramen? Don't worry - Goshin Ramen also has dry ramen too. If your taste buds are up for an adventure, try their Ramen Rebus, which is their Japanese Chef's take on Mee Rebus. 8. Mad Bros SG
Located in Tanjong Pagar Plaza, Mad Bros SG is a Muslim-owned hawker stall that opened on 2 September 2019. Halal Japanese hawker food is a rare find so you should definitely try out their ramen and curry rice if you get a chance! They previously had a stall at the 2109 Ramadan Geylang Bazaar selling Japanese chicken and beef cutlets drenched in cheese gravy, and now they've finally opened their first brick-and-mortar stall. Their small menu includes Creamy Chicken Ramen, a creamy chicken broth ramen; Curry Chicken Ramen, Truffle Ramen, and Chicken Miso Butter Ramen that's full of rich and flavourful goodness! ?
